Broad Run High School (Ashburn VA) Fishing Club

Featured Replies

Recently, the Broad Run High School Fishing Club had their Fall tournament (bank fishing) in Ashburn VA. Students (14 in total) from three diffeerent High Schools participated.

While the fishing was not red hot, the competition went down to the wire.

1st Pl- a Sr. from Broad Run HS with 65.5"

2nd Pl- a So. from Stone Bridge HS with 59"

3rd Pl- a Jr. from Stone Bridge HS with 53.5"

Lunker Fish- a freshman from Broad Run HS, 20.5" (5 lbs even)

These kids had a great time and were mentored by several seasoned fishermen including Dan. and flippin4it . As well, these guys donated a bunch of unused tackle which in turn was given to the participants. Each student received a bag of goodies at the weigh in and cookout.

The next tournament will be in the Spring. The Club is always looking for donations (used tackle) so if you have something to spare, please let me know.

kudos to Dan for donating his time and doing something positive for the community. Nice to see young kids getting serious about fishing too.

Yeah sounds like a goodtime, Dan invited me but too bad I wasnt able to make it, he talks about you every now and then while we're fishing, I'm sure I'll meet you soon enough Ernie

Those kids are like sponges, they soak up everything they hear/see/watch/read about fishing. I encourage anyone who is able to help out with their events. It's always a great time.

No question....it was a good time. Some of these kids really know their stuff and as Dan said, they are like sponges.

I look forward to meeting you Thai...hope you can make the next one.

Ernie.
