Lake Chesdin

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has any information or tips on bass location and techniques to use while fishing on lake chesdin.  I am currently saving up for an outboard for my boat and once i get this i will begin fishing on lake chesdin.

BE CAREFUL OF GOING INTO THE SWAMP.

If you know how to navigate in and out of the Swamp area, you will have a great time catching the big ladies back in the Swamp.

It is very dangerous to go in and out of the Swamp if you do not know what you are doing.

Fish the shoreline of Lake Chesdin and its creeks.

Crankbaits, plastics and jigs usually do well. Senkos in the summer can be dynamite.

Nice lake to fish but it can get crowded.

Remember to wear your PFD and have all Virginia safety items and registration data with you as DG&IF will stop you for a check.

DG&IF is supposed to watch for speeding on the lake, but I have never heard or saw them stop anyone. Speed limit is 45 MPH.

I put in on the Dinwiddie side as it is free. But Seven Springs Marina is a nice place to launch and they have bathroom facilities.

Have fun and let us know how you do.  :)
