fished my club tourny yesterday out of harney pond  and it was BRUTAL!!. the wind was howling at 25-30 mph and it was freezing. started out on the north shore, then the monkey box but the wind just blew you way too fast across any area. my partner yeserday did not have a power pole, so it was useless to try and work those areas. we went into the seven mile ditch to try and scratch up a small limit. using giggy heads, we did just that and ended up with 9.70 pounds. everyone of our fish were litle fish that were 14-15 inches, but these dudes were fat. fortunately we won with that small weight. a lot of boats zeroed or had 1 fish. as i look out my window this morning, i see that there is not a lick of wind. i am sure today is good up there. figures.

Congrats on the win. You can bet if you schedule a tourney at  Okee-chop-ee, the wind will be gusting.:( When the wind is howling at the O, it really makes boat control and fishing tough in the chop. I have been there on those days, and I would have been skunked. To your credit, you and your partner pulled out the win.

Hey, I was going to buy some skinny dippers at Outdoor world, but they do not seem to stock them there. Do you buy your plastics locally or online? Any advice on colors. The "Dirty Sanchez" looked like a south Florida color.

That is a good job on a tough day! Days like that really make me think hard about getting a Power Pole. On the Skinny Dipper, Angler's in Clewiston carries them. the most popular color is Houdini and they are usually sold out of that one. I've used the Dirty Sanchez (gotta love Andre's names) in the Trixie Shark

thanks gents. *** is the cheapest place to get them. my go to colors are california 420 and watermelon. i love 'em.

congrat, today was still windy incase any one was wondering. 15 to 20. I fished the south end of the monkey box, had 6 bites in 4 hours on skinny dippers. had 2 over 6, a 4, and 3 smaller keepers. then I went in the rim canal and caught some specks.

by the way, they were on cali 420 skinny dippers.

Skinny dippers are the go to bait lately.  I love the white trash color and June Bug....

Power Pole is a must, can't see any serious tournament anglers without them anymore.  It comes in so handy especially in our shallow Florida bowl type lakes.  I am glad I got one, wish I had two to really keep the nose pinned.
