Featured Replies

thinking about heading that way

fish the flats. or flip the alley.

pretty good bite going on at sawgrass right now which is just across the highway from holpk - we didn't score on lunkers but decent bass and lots of them

Any of you fellow smell the stench of rotting exotics while you were out?  The STAs stink so bad in certain areas I had to move while duck hunting!

Any update on Holiday Park?  Just looking for general info...Has the fishing picked up at Holiday Park? Or is a person better off fishing north still (Miami canal or Alligator Alley)?

I plan on fishing the glades this weekend and looking for a good starting point.  I will send a report.  Thanks!

sawgrass is red hot right now with 50-100 fish not uncommon. however there are 2 tourny's this sunday out there. the park is still a flats thing. until the water drops, fishing will be tough. i am going to the park on sunday to estabish a decent pattern to help me qualify for king of the glades. i have to get into the classic.

I was out at Holiday yesterday and we fished the center canal, the upper end of the Miami canal and one of the flats. The numbers were decent in the two canal areas-no size to speak of though.  Just typical bank and pad beating with senkos either t-rigged or wacky.

Had some bites in the flats and hooked a few. Water temp still hovering around 60. I think if you are after size or need to win a T or qualify for KOTG the flats is the option but that is a zero/hero deal. I hear the Fingers have been good but I haven't been up there myself though I think the winners of the last KOTG qualifier did most of their damage there.

Thanks guys. Last time I was out there I went with my 6 year old daughter and we caught about 80 just tossing worms/senkos in the canals. I don't think one fish was over 14", but hey...that kind of action is good to keep a six year old's attention.

I was planning on heading out Sunday also.  Right now, I'm leaning toward trying some of the flats south of Holiday Park along the Miami canal or making the run down to Tamiami Trail.  I'll post a report.

I fished Holiday Park a couple days ago.  I got a few small fish in the canals, with one decent one:  ~3lbs. I didn't get a chance to get into the flats, but that's my goal this week.

BB, my partner and I are going to try and fish the next KOTG qualifier as well.  He's fished a few of these but this will be my first.
