FISHIN LAKE MURRAY????

Featured Replies

Anyone out there from south carolina and fish on lake murray?

I fished it before I moved to Myrtle Beach, but I'm coming back for about a month and going to be fishing it this winter.

Yeah, I've been fishing it pretty steady almost every weekend for about a year now. I'm getting a little better as I go. I've been landing several in the two pound range and one five pounds. Winter is a little tough for me. Could always use some advise of course. How did you like murray? .

Winter is always fun in general cause they stack up on the points. If you can find some main lake points in about 30-35ft of water, they will eat up a dropshot and football jigs.(I would say some specific points, but I need them for tournaments soming up.) I will say that the water treatment plant in the lower end has some great spots around it.

If there was one thing I would concentrate on it would be slowing down and making your lures look as realistic as possible, cause a lot of people fish Murray so I try to make my lures look just a little better than the next guy.

Thanks. Yeah, I just started trying jigs but haven't got it down quite yet.  I was reading some threads on here about slowin it down and letting the jig sit in one spot for sometimes up to a minute. So I'm gonna give that a shot. Thanks again.

Hey, here's another one caught by my girlfriend. Her first bass!!! Weighing in at 4.5lbs. Not bad for her first. Caught it on a purple 6in shakey head worm.

Anyone who can answer this question would be a huge help. Once the water gets hot past 80 degrees I can't seem to catch a thing! I mean I might catch one or two but they're small. I've tried top water really early in the morning on points but they hit everything around but my lures! Lol.....any help? Thanks.

try a suspending lure if theyre coming up but not taking the top water lures. if no luck, try fishing deeper when the temps go up

Buddy of mine caught these this morning on a spinner bait. I couldn't figure out how to down size the image so you have to click on it to see all four fish. But it's a great catch!
