Anyone hear of any reports about when the shad are predicted to start their run up the james.  This will be my first year out at them on a kayak and I am stoked for it.

It usually begins around this time...however the recent rains really pushes the run back a bit. I think the river levels are near flood stage or just lower below it. Once the levels get down to about 7-8 ft the run should start up.

I think we might be getting more rain this weekend so....that's no good.

I'll maybe give it a shot at ancarows tmr before dragging the kayak out.
