lake istokpoga

Featured Replies

i have a 2 day this weekend and i am not pre-fishing. has anyone been to "poga" lately? i have my normal spots, but if anyone has done some recon, any help would be great. thanks in advance.

Went 2 weeks ago and did best on the South end in the hydrilla fields. Depth was about 7ft and they where hitting flukes through the cuts and jig/craw baits in the pockets. Also, got some fat females on the jig deep into the cattails of Big Island.

4th. laid an egg on saturday and only weighed in 2 fish. our club only has a 3 fish limit when we fish istokpoga because a couple guys fish alone and the catch limit is different on that lake even with permits. we were in dead last place on saturday, but yesterday we stroked them and finished with the biggest sack of the day. all of our fish were caught on the southeast corner in the hydrilla fron the lone cypress tree north to the istokpoga canal.

Nice job on Sunday.

I like istopoga a lot, just a bit of a drive.

In the southeast corner, there is supposed to be a shell bed between the island and shore, I have been there 2x and still have not found it (rough conditions).

The flood control gate area in the south has been good to me in the past, as have been the pad fields near Henderson's cove.

How's the Ranger?
