Lake Lousia State Park in Florida & Winter Haven

Featured Replies

I will be at Lake Lousia State Park in Clermont on 5/14 for 3 days. It looks like the park has several lakes that can be fished. I won't have access to a boat so all the fishing we do will be from the bank. What lake in the park would be the best bet to catch bass? Also what is some lures that I should bring with me. I will be coming from PA so can't bring my whole tackle bag.

Also any other places in Clermont good to fish?

On 5/17 I will be in Winter Haven. What would be the best bet for bass fishing in that area? All fishing will be done from the bank. Will only have a few hours to fish on that Monday so it would be nice to fish a pond/lake where I can catch a few bass. Also what lures should I bring?

Thanks, Ed

Anyone with some info?

I'm also going to be in winter haven this weekend.  Anyone have info? I rarely. Have luck up there and could use some pointers for this hot weekend

for w.h. try the dock on lake spring . there is a deep hole off it i found with my graph, you may be able to park across the street at the hotel.. it hasnt been as pressured becase the canal is dried up from lake cannon, but mirror/ spring canal if full..also lake silver you can walk around it pretty good and there is a dock -topwater-t-rig 10in.junebug worms and a bandit 300 size crank all work well.

I drive by Spring Lake all the time and wonder how the fishing is there... I was not aware that it was cutoff from the chain at the moment.

Several of the City parks in Polk County have nice little fishing ponds in them. Lake Bonny Park in Lakeland and the park right behind the auburndale speedway.

Thanks for the info.

I ended up fishing two of the lakes today at Lake Lousia State park and caught 2 bass. Tomorrow I plan on going to fish a lake in Polk County and on Monday will try lake spring in the morning and lake Silver in the afternoon in Winter Haven.

Will let you know how I do...
