Bass Lake real estate? Southeast (nonFlorida)

Featured Replies

Hi. My wife's uncle lives in Mississippi on a 200 acre bass lake that is managed by Southeastern Pond Management, a company that specializes in managing trophy recreational lakes. There is great fishing on that lake. The owners on the lake actually own the bottom of the lake as part of their lots. Electric motors only, beautiful lake.

I am looking for something similar in the southeast--NC, SC, Georgia to retire too. Does anyone know of such a place? Or something similar--somewhat small lakes with restricted access and great fishing? If so, could you please send me a message? Thanks!

Do those management companies have a record of producing well balanced fisheries?  Down here the pond management companies strictly irradicate weedgrowth both out and under the water. They have no interest in maintaining or developing forage and foliage for game fish. Sadly niether do the lake owners.

There is such a lake in or near Summerville, South Carolina. I read or saw a program about it a few years ago but I didn't retain any details. I suggest an internet  search. That area is very nice and only 10-15 miles from Santee-Cooper.................Al

There are lots for sale in the background of this photo. ;) I couldn't get the photo smaller so you may have to click on it. Lake is the best bet for big bass in the Southeast outside Flordia. Those five fish weigh almost 40 lbs and were caught this spring. It's not an easy lake to fish but it has big bass. The lake is Lake Varner near the town of Covington which is just East of Atlanta. You can search this site and find a few posts on it. I fish many more electric only lakes in GA and could tell you a couple more good options as well. Just send me a pm.

Thanks all! I'll tame a closer look. Any other options, please contact me!

0119--I believe SE Pond Management does a good job--according to my wife's uncle, they work to keep the shad population up, provide structure, monitor by electroshock, and are now considering mixing in northern bass strain to increase aggressiveness. And I've fished it and caught some real lunkers.

My house is actually for sale on Lake Guntersville, AL. I know that is not exactly what you might be looking for, but it is definitely a great bass lake (although not a small electric only lake). I don't want this post to come off like an ad or promo for a real estate company, so you can contact me directly if interested & I will give you the MLS # to look the house up. It is 2400 sqft sitting on 1.4 acres with deeded access to TVA waterfront (mid lake area). Listed for 290,000. Feel free to email with any questions. By the way this message is for anyone that might be interested.

Thanks & GOD Bless

The Waters outside of Montgomery is a beautiful neighborhood with a lot of big fish in it. Hank Parker did a show there once. I think the biggest pond is less than 100 acres. www.thewatersal.com/
