Any decent fishing near Crozet, VA?

Featured Replies

I am headed down there in a few hours to spend the weekend and I am hoping to find a decent place to wet a line.

I found the locations below while searching online. Are any of them accessible to the public?

Alumni Lake

Blandemar Farm Pond

Henleys Lake

Jessups Lake

Sportsman Lake

Whites Pond

Add Chris Green Lake, Rivanna Res, Walnut Creek Lake, Albemarle Lake, Ragged Mt. Res. and about 5 minutes from Crozet-----Beaver Creek Res.

Beaver Creek has a large population of bass and is great place to go if you want to catch higher numbers of bass. But there aren't very many large bass in the reservoir. I have seen a few 4 or 5 pound fish come out of the water, but most of the fish that I have caught out of there are 12-14 inches long. If you can get an opportunity to go the Rivanna Res, I would suggest that you go there. It is one of my favorite places around to fish. As a matter of fact I am considering heading out there in the morning myself. Good luck.
