Pickwick Guides?

Featured Replies

Does anybody have recommendations for guides on Pickwick? I have a tournament there on Oct 2 and was trying to get a guided trip with my co-angler some time in September. Thanks for the help!

I would recommend Roger Stegall.  Honestly, that time of year on Pickwick, you could just about throw a bare hook in the water and get bit.  I fished 2 tournies on Pickwick last October, and 30-40 fish a day were no problem.  Fish are usually schooling big time in the backs of creeks and over grass.  Caught most on Traps, crankbaits, Sworming hornets, flukes, and shakey heads.

Roger Stegall has the most notoriety on Pickwick. He has a stable of guides, but if you can get Roger I would do it. He can give you a lot of insight on locating and patterning for larger fish.

Thanks for the help guys! I completely forgot about this thread and my fishing partner ended up scheduling a day with Jimmy Mason. Sorry for the lack of response, but thanks once again for the help
