Can somebody in WV tell me what the requirements are to be eligible for a resident fishing license? I looked online, but I couldn't find it. I might just be blind. Anyway, my situation is this: I am active duty military, and I'm being stationed in WV. In many states that qualifies me for resident status immediately. If not, how long do I have to be in WV before I'm considered a resident? I'm hoping someone out there can pick up a copy of the fishing regulations and look this up for me. Yea, give them a call... If the college students are exempt, the AD folks should be as well... And u don't wanna pay nonres fees for a license that will only be good for 4 months anyways. (WV's licenses expire @ end of year)

No seasons that I'm aware of, but the stocked trout waters may have some funny regs. I know down here they do, but they aren't huge bodies of water either, and I've never fished for trout.

I might hit some of these suggestions, this magazine isn't a bad read sometimes, either.

Hey birddog sorry I didnt see this earlier. There are no seasons you can fish year round. You have to buy a trout stamp if your planning on fishin for them but thats about it.

A person who has been a domiciled resident continuously in

West Virginia for 30 consecutive days or more immediately

prior to the date of application for a license or permit.

This includes members of the U.S. armed forces stationed

outside the state who were West Viginia residents at the

time of entry into the service and any full-time student of a

Thanks, guys. I guess I'm going to have to buy a nonresident license. At least they are fairly inexpensive compared to some states. $37 for an annual nonresident license is not bad at all.

That stinks, man. AD guys in this state need every break we can give them. Especially if the BAH here is still as horrible as it was 5 years ago.

I have a place in wva. lived there for years but thought I needed a non-resident lic. because I've been living in fla.  $68 with trout stamp - pretty steep I thought - I'll be a res. next yr.
