Anyone in my area fished this lake?  It's RIGHT down from my house so I've developed a few little nooks and crannies, but it's fairly large and I'm curious to see if there are any other good spots. But w/out a fish finder (yet) and no information I can find posted online I'm hoping SOMEONE out there actually fishes it.

I've had the best success at the area of the lake near the golf course. It's been a few years since I have fished there. The last time I fished it, I caught more catfish than bass on bass lures. I have since moved on to more productive waters.

My first few trips there, the launch site was on the East side of Rt. 29.

Well, with my tiny little boat I'm able to launch from pretty much near my house so it works out pretty good.  I figure with taking the kids out any kind of fish will be decent for them, and I can take my Bass weekends to go to more productive waters =)

Do you happen to remember how deep most of the areas you fished were?

And as a side note, this whole place is fairly shallow and muddy beyond belief. Can't hardly see more than a foot or so into the water.

*sigh* any suggestions on fishing really shallow muddy water?

I used to catch the most with a single colorado 1/4 oz spinnerbait and a Tx rigged ribbon tail worm. I think the usual depth was about 10'.

Every time I have fished there, it was very dingy to muddy.

WOOT!  Finally got one out of here.  I've discovered a few little nice spots, but it's like pulling teeth here in the middle of summer to get them, but finally landed a nice one!

Thought this was an interesting read.  The more I'm fishing it, the more I'm finding the bigger ones too.  Now getting them to bite is a whole other story =/

The shocking surveys have the good results because of all the shallow water. The fish don't have the option to go deep and beyond the range of the shocking probes.

The results are misleading to the uninformed.

Even when Hunting Run was first opened for fishing the max depth was more than 50'.
