I just got back into fishing a couple months ago, after about a 15 year hiatus -- and I've got the fishing bug big time:)

I live outside of Richmond, VA and I'm planning to head down to Pocahontas State Park tomorrow to get familiar with the area.

I don't have a boat, so I'm stuck on the banks. Any suggestions on where to fish there or what the fish are into these days?

Thanks for your help. These forums have been an incredible help to me.

    Went there once. 

    My best advice is rent a boat or kayak.  Difficult access from the bank.

    Don't go to the lower lake as its being reclaimed by the forest due to erosion.
