Locations for Peacock Bass???

Featured Replies

Hey Folks...I was looking for a place in South Florida where I can legally launch a kayak and fish for Peacock Bass! I am not looking for anyone to give up their honey hole, just somewhere to catch them even if they are small. I appreciate any info you folks could provide...

Most (not all) of the residential lakes have Peacocks in them.  Several of the ones around me are called Boaters Parks.  One of them has a paved ramp, others are just bank access for small boats.  The problem with a bunch of the lakes is parking.  If you can find a spot to stick the car, it's game on.

dude if you live in springs, you are in the most premiere area of northern broward county. eagle trace, heron bay, and EVERY gated community is LOADED  with peacock. if you want to launch a kayak, try university and sawgrass. there is a church there and it has monster bass and peacock. if you want peacock, throw a floating gold rapala or a gold countdown and retrieve as fast as you can. i prefer the largemouths in that stretch using a black blue bitsy jig with a paca chunck trailer swimming it over, and throught the felled trees. that place is amazing when it is on. also try a white spinnerbait through the pads. good luck.

Try the lake at the west end of Wiles road. You can park on the side of the road. The lake connects to canals that will take you into the Heron Bay canals.

Fast retrieve spinner baits, crank baits, or shiners.

For the eagle trace lakes, you could launch at the canal behind the publix on coral ridge drive.
