Florida Christmas vacation...

Featured Replies

Just returned to South Carolina from my annual South Florida Christmas vacation trip to visit family. Got away to do a few days of bass fishing in the Deerfield Beach area. Caught over 50 LM Bass. No peacocks to my disappointment.

Interestingly, the water temp continuously dropped from 64° to 58° in just a few days...that didn't seem to bother the LM's much but the Pea's were nonexistant! Also saw two fry clouds...could some LMBass have spawned already? Or were they some other species? Anyway, great time. All bass were nice footballs. I love Florida fishing. Going back in February. here's some pics:

They really are fun to fish.  I found out recently that one of the lakes I fish frequently had a 13 pounder come out of it.  I'll be spending more time out there soon....

Great pics, Orpssab.  Nice fat healthy fish.

Thanks South and Addict.

Those are some great fish you got there!

To answer your question about the spawn.. traditionally it comes in the spring. However last year I was catching fish on Lake O in late October that looked like they were ready to pop. Down here in the everglades I have caught several 4"-8" bass this year . I have also seen a lot of beds recently. I pulled a nice fat girl off a bedding area last week. So some fish have obviously already spawned.
