my brother and i are looking to hit the water for the first time this year in his new boat.  we're hopin to land some smallies. which river should we hit this time of year??? and  iwas wondering if anyones gone out yet on either part of the river, and if anyone has how'd you do??? depth??? lures???

aren't both these pretty low?

I have canoed both and I think you will do better in the Rappahanock, but low water is always a concern on those rivers.
