First Bass from Huntsman this year

Featured Replies

Got a 12" LMB from Huntsman; dam end about 2 hours ago.  Of course no pictures; didn't take the camera cause didn't expect to catch anything.  My first bass of 2011.

congrats! how was the water?

yeah real curious.... water was murky and 50 last weekend....

Wonder if the rain made it nearly completely dark and made the temp drop.

Water was muddy but somewhat clear near shore; very cold water definetly below 50.  Got him on a 3" ***, wacky rigged.

Nice job Ron!! I know it didn't happen last year but let's get out this year!

I went this afternoon. Water was really dirty. Major shad kill too.

Saw a few dead ones last week....like 2 or 3, all very large.

About how many dead ones did you see?

I only walked a hundred yards or so. I saw probably close to 50. All large too. There was even a dead deer in the water...

uhh...that doesn't sound good at all. i hope that deer died for reasons unrelated to the water.

i don't think its anything too bad. it happened on a much larger scale a few years back at Fountainhead.

WOW, didnt realize so many people on here fished Huntsman.  I've hit it probably 10 or 15 times this year, usually just on my way home from work for an hour or so.

I've pulled out 3 of them, and lost 1 that i would guess was around 3 lbs but she threw the hook as i was getting ready to hoist her.

Stopped by Huntsman on my way home from work.  Saw 1 dead shad... no bass (caught or dead) and the water was stained with little clarity... just thought ya'll would like to know.
