good spots in the Phoenix area?

Featured Replies

Hey all, Ill be in the Phoenix area from the 13th-20th, visiting my folks.  Id like to get on some spots to get some big-uns, living in Illinois kinda limits the growing season.  Any tips would be appriciated.  Thanks.

Roosevelt or San Carlos for larger bass in the Phoenix area. Will you have a boat?

Borrowing a boat is still up in the air, I havnt really been close to my cousin, and Id hate the idea of not talking to him until I need to borrow his boat.... ::) So I plan on doing some shore stomping....  I wouldnt, however, be opposed to renting a small boat, provided the lake has rentals available.  Hows Lake Pleasant these days?  I havent lived in Phoenix for about 13 years now, I hear its quite the nightmare.

Its a solid lake but pleasure boaters are coming out in droves. You can rent a boat at Roosevelt, may want to Google the Roosevelt Marina to find costs. IMO Rosey is your best bet right now with San Carlos second and Bartlett third.

Lake pleasant is a great lake, but fish it on weekdays or after dark. Roosevelt probably is your best option, but Apache and Saguaro lakes are great too.
