Clear Lake Season Bests

Featured Replies

Hellooooooooooooooooo! 8-) haha.Alright besides the Delta, Clear Lake is my favorite place to fish. Its well known all over the states, and one of the best in the states.Amazing.Heavy cover and everything, especialy with the frogs and senkos. We make a trip every year and have been for the past 3. Weve been going in the summer all these times, one was in early spring, one in early summer and one in dead summer.they have all been pretty good. Please mark which is the  best time you think is to go and tell the techniques you use.Last year when we went in early summer,we only went for 4 days and didnt discover the pattern until the 3rd day.Oh i forgot to add that there was a small cold front that blew in so it kinda messed things up.But anyway we were catching them on senkos at 12 feet right off the weed line and right off the docks and the moss piles inbetween the docks.I even had a few blow ups on the frog and so did my dad(my friend wasnt so lucky with the frog haha). We were fishing a stretch with all these giant rich houses. We fished for about 2 hours and decided to go back for lunch(BAD MISTAKE) and when we wanted to go back out there were giant waves so we couldnt and we went out the next day and managed to catch a few more and then started the trip home. This time we are gonna go for about a week and most likely towards the end of early summer. So again tips and all that good stuff i want this one to be a amazing one  :D

The last time I was at Clear Lake was April last year, and I'll be headed down there a few times between April and June.

Last year I did OK in the keyes with senkos, but had my best luck with a spinnerbait fishing around docks. I caught a 15lbs 11oz fish... I called it a golden bass... LOL. I snagged its tail with a speed trap on my little compre 6'6". Holy cow I almost lost my pole.

Try hitch colored jerkbaits.
