ummmm...As long as theres not many people, Kelsey Slough should be good. Last time when we were at the state park last year, If we weren't out on the water, me and my friend would wade and fish from shore. We didn't catch a single fish from that thing, When 2 years before me and my couzin caught about 23 pounds of bass in the 4 hours we fished it. But both those last times were in early june. I suggest you bring some sort of kayak, canoe, or belly boat and fish the tules around the park with senkos and such. That usually works for us when we're fishing around camp. When we go on our boat, we usually don't try fishing there, but sometimes we fish the edges before making a run towards clear lake oaks area. Oh and towards the mouth of Kelsey Slough there are vegetation mats on the other bank. Try a frog on that. A fish blew up on it last time i was there. Always try a frog on that lake. Last time, we were in a cold front, but we fished all the vegetation between docks and docks in the super gigantic rich house areas, and i still managed 2 blow ups in an hour. Would have kept throwin it but we left to go eat lunch and wanted to come back but the waves were tsunamis so that didnt work :-/. I also was crankin a red eye shad over the tops of weed lines and i had one follow it, but i didn't stick with it very long. I understand the lake just had a bad bad shad die off a while back, but they still eat it (or atleast try to)   ;)
