Dallas Cowboy's new coach

Featured Replies

The local sports talk station in Dallas is stating Wade Phillips is the new head coach.

Jerry is announcing officially at 5pm CDT.

All those interviews and Wade Phillips is the best the Cowboys can do???

I was totally surprised at the selection of Wade Philllips.

With the quality program the Cowboys run I was thinking they would hire a young, agressive assistant head coach from another NFL team.

If the Southern California/Reggie Bush scandal hits the fan then maybe Pete Carroll will succeed Phillips.

Time will tell.

Yes, I am surprised as well.  I first thought Jerry would hire a young coach because that's the trendy thing to do.  But after some thought, I realized that a younger coach might try to buck him.  Toward the end, I thought he might hire a black man (again trendy).  Now I realize he's hired someone who will do his will and earn 3 years of retirement money (just like Parcells).  I see no improvement at hand until Jerry sells the team.  3 years from now they'll be looking again.

I get the feeling Jerry wants an easygoing kind of guy that has no problem with Jerry making all of the decisions without input from said coach.I could be wrong.
