Water Proof boots leaking, anyway to fix them?

Featured Replies

I have these water-proof boots Ive been using lately. They come up about knee high. The only problem is they have been starting to leak water into them. It seems like the water is coming in from the back ankle part of the boots. I bought these boots at cabelas in the "bargain" area. I wonder why they were in the bargain area...  >:(. Anyway they costed me about 75$ so im hoping there is someway to seal up the leak or something. Here is a link to a pair of boots that look very similiar to them http://img.timeinc.net/fieldstream/bowguide2006/5_302_BOOT.jpg. So is there anyway to fix the leak? Or am I pretty much screwed?

go to walmart and ask for rubber socks.  Im quite sure it may take some looking to find them, but, well worth it in the end!

There in the pharmacy section -

Brand name is Trojan.

One size fits all.

mostly.  8-)

As the story goes thats how I got here a leaky Boot

if they are real rubber, get a tire patch kit for a bicycle, and patch it, and you are good to go, or use some rubber cement if it is really small, you will just have to reapply it every so often.

Otherwise, not sure what you can do other than call Cabelas as was previously mentioned.

1.  Bicycle tire repair kit

2.  Pool liner repair kit

3.  Fiberglass it

4.  Melt 100 candles into 5 gallon bucket, adorn boot and dip it in

5.  Shoe Goo

6.  Find the leak, stuff a senko in it (this worked with our jon boat)

7.  replace them

8.  Call cabela's

Well, like muddy said.

He was born due to a "leaky boot"

Seriously there is a product I get at West Marine called "Liguid rope whiping"  It is an adhesive but when it dries it is waterproof but it rubbery. Meaning you can twist and bend it and it doesn't crack.

I'm finding it to be pretty handy stuff.

Also go to cabellas.  They sell a gore tex sock.  Totally waterproof and it breathes so your feet won't sweat.

I used them for years with regular rocky or tims that I waterproofed myself with mink oil.  Between the two I always had dry feet.

Now that I'm in Florida, don't need boots no how.

Except for the occasional cottonmouth that is.

I would just let the leak be a leak.  Keep wearing them until you get a nice case of swamp foot.  There's nothing else in life as gratifying as the stank that comes from swamp foot.  Right up there with an elevator ride with the judges of a chilli cook off...

Or you could do what the other guys say...
