Had a craving for tuna salad, so I picked up some mayo and sweet relish.

Open the jar of relish, think to myself that it smells a little tart. Eat a spoonful...son of a *****!

Jar labeled as sweet relish, but it is dill relish. I like dill relish, but only on hot dogs. :-/

I don't know if it is a regional thing or not. Here in the South, a lot of folks put dill pickles in tuna fish salad, chicken salad and potato salad (myself included). Would rather have sweet relish on the above mentioned hot dogs. Different strokes etc. etc.

I don't think it a southern thing. I live in wisconsin and they put pickles in in every thing you just said. But we also have to boil every thing in beer up here. It dosn't make sense to me. I would rather drink the beer then cook some thing in it.

Oh, I like dill relish in tuna salad every now and then, but most of the time I like sweet relish.

Dill relish tends to make the salad more than a bit salty.
