drop shotting

Featured Replies

so I'm new to drop shotting and and I'm just looking for specific lure types to use for large and small mouth bass

For largemouth ...try dropshotting 4 1/2" roboworms...i've had great success with those....i haven't been lucky enough to do any smallmouth fishing but from what i've seen the goby worms work great for dropshotting smallsmouth.

Part of the fun is trying out all kinds of different baits to see what works best for you. Can't really go wrong with any 3"-5" soft, straight tailed worm, but try other things like little flukes, gobies or reapers. The bass in your lakes will tell you what they like, then you can just buy more of what ever bait they're eating.

Believe it or not, lately a zoom chunk has been my best drop shot bait.  It was the only thing I had that day that was small and went with it.  Funny thing is that it worked

now there's an idea

you can use just about anything.  i like the robo worm and manns hardnose finess worm alot too     but any bait can be used on a drop shot   so just match the hatch and you will catch fish.   i've actually just seen a rig where you can dril a  hole in a crankbaits bill and use the crankbait as a dropshot
