DEI and JR split

Featured Replies

As many of you know, Dale Jr. is leaving DEI next year to a new race team. This move is a monumental one for NASCAR. As ESPN has been saying, he is the biggest free agent in sports history. I think Theresa Earnhardt and DEI has really dropped the ball on this one. Their cars havent been near the best for the past three years and they now lose the most popular driver in the sport. DEI may now be a sinking ship. I have heard talk that it is likely that Truex jr. will also leave DEI. I believe the only hope for DEI now is to merge with Robert Yates Racing because Paul Menard is not a championship driver. Being a JR fan, I am glad he left. The only way DEI would get better would be for Jr to run the company. Now he gets to go to a team where he can win more races and hopefully a few championships so i am a big fan of this move. What are your thoughts on this guys?

ive never really beden a fan of jr. tony stewart is my man an i would love to have jr on board with joe gibbs racing.i saw yesterday that he would most likely go to another chevy team if given the chance, as for the wghole idea of him making his own team i would have to say no way. the time and money would deffiently put a dent in his ability to race.its a huge chunk of change and he would probobly need to spend so much time running it that he wouldnt have the time left over to race.also it would take years for a team to get the money need to have top performing cars at every race.

IMO he would be better of going to an established chevy team whether it be Gibbs, Hendrick, or Childress

As far as I'm concerned, Junior just made the best career move of his life.  The world, and sponsors,  await him.
