Rods on a plane?

Featured Replies

Hey does anyone know if I can take my 2 piece rods on my flight with me without buying a hard case for them? Could I just use PVC ?

My instinct is probably not, ususally you need a resealable container because they are very likely to open it when checking baggage. If they open the pvc tube and can't get it back together it would not be a good scenario.

You have to check with your airline though it varies from company to company..

Rods on a plane... kinda like the movie Snakes on a plane???   ;)

Call the airline you are flying and ask about their policy on fishing rods...

You can use PVC but I would suggest buying a tube.  PVC, cap end and glue will cost SOMETHING and the tubes are very affordable.  I have the bazooka pro, the mack daddy, and even that was only $40.  The smaller ones are even cheaper (mine holds 12 rods)
