Brock Lesnar makes MMA debut

Featured Replies

For you UFC/MMA fans out there; I just finished watching Brock Lesnar (former 3 time WWE champion) fight in MMA for the first time in the K-1 Dynamite USA fights in L.A..  He fought some Korean Judo fighter and absolutely destroyed him.   :oI don't know what the guidelines are to be in the UFC, but Lesnar is a beast and I couldn't imagine anybody in the UFC heavyweight class being able to beat this guy.  Just his pure strength is one thing, but he is also an extremely good wrestler and tonight he showed off some great striking ability. His opponent actually tapped after taking two punches with Lesnar's ground and pound.  I'd definitely like to see Lesnar in action again in MMA.  Also, Royce Gracie fought, and defeated, Sakaraba avenging his loss to Sakaraba 7 years ago.

That's awesome. I was wondering what happend to him after he left wrestling. I'll have to keep and eye out for him, thanks.

Holy cow! I just watched the video on youtube. Soo kim wasnt even trying to do much, just hold on for dear life. I have never seen someone tap out just from getting punched. Did it count as submission or TKO?

I heard that K-1 show barely had 5,000 paying customers in the place.....plus they threw Johnnie Morton (former NFL WR) into the ring and he ended up getting knocked out in 38 seconds and had to be carried off on a gurney. There's a big write up about it on the Fox Sports News website in the boxing section.

Lesnar though, could be a popular choice to join UFC.....I'd rather see him have the HW belt instead of Tim Sylvia (if he ever gets it back.)

cpvenom thanks for saying you saw it on youtube. I was gonna check there later but now I know its on there. Thanks.

I don't think the estimate of 5,000 people at the K-1 fight is accurate at all.  I would think there were more like 15,000 judging by the crowd I saw on television.  Johnny Morton refused the drug doping test after the fight, so he isn't going to be fighting MMA again.  Only time will tell if Lesnar is truly as good as he looked last night.  I'd REALLY like to see him and Andre Arlovski go at it.  That would be a war.   Or even better Lesnar vs. Fedor  HOLY CRAP! :o

I'm talking PAYING customers.....they handed out like 80,000 free tickets. ;D

I like Arlovski and Fedor too. Both are exciting to watch and are good at their craft. With UFC buying everything up, we should see the best fighters vs. the best fighters.....thats whats killing boxing....too many commissions, too many belts, too much back-stabbing.

Do you agree that Arlovski hasn't seemed like his old vicious self lately?  I don't know what's gotten into him.  He used to be the most ferocious attacker, d**n the consequences, but in his last two fights he's been more of a counter-puncher.  I'd like to see him return to the "pitbull" he used to be.
