Angel Cabrera just won the U.S. Open with an insane 5+ par at Oakmont Country Club outside Pittsburgh. Tiger Woods was in a position where he could force a playoff with Cabrera but missed a birdie putt. Cabrera is now bringing home Argentina's very first U.S. Open championship.

I've been watching the entire coverage since Friday morning.  I was pulling for Tiger like crazy!!!  Oh well....

It was pretty darn close intill Tiger blew it with his bunker shot on the 17th. I was rooting for bolth of them. I mean you got to love Cabrera picking his nose infront of national TV, lol.

Tiger should have stuck with Butch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When he was "Wide tight and ripping it ala 2000 he was the best ever and will still be own pure ability. I don't watch nor do I play golf.  Too boring for me.  But I do have to say that I live a mere 10 minutes away from the Oakmont country club.  Why oh why couldn't that place be a huge lake where they hosted the Bassmasters classic instead?

Of all the majors, I enjoy the US Open the most.  Makes those guys look almost normal.  The birdie-a-thons get old for me week after week.  Par should be a good score.

So true KU, but unfortunatley I was no where near as involved in bass fishing as I am now.  Plus I lived in the middle of the state and didn't have a way to get there.   >

I agree with y'all about the Open.  It it the Superbowl or Daytona of golf.  I'm lucky to be in an area where they seem to have an Open nearby every couple of years (Shinnecock is about a mile from where I grew up, Bethpage Black is only an hour away).

Has anyone noticed that apart from next year at Torrey Pines, the most recent Opens have been in the NYC metro area (Shinnecock, Bethpage, Wingedfoot) or at a course with the word Oak in the name (Oakmont, Oak Hills, Oakhurst)?  Just thought that was a little weird...

lol 296 is what tiger hits his 3 wood, obviously I wouldn't make a big deal about that . Even I can drive 280 with a good roll. But 396.... I have never seen nor heard of such a thing up until Cabrera blasted that ball.
