for some strange reason my avatar stopped showing my pic   ,so i decided to place a new pic and keep getting some invalid character something or another  . tried several pics  they all did same thing    

try using one of the defaults, or have u already, if this works then it may be the size?

This is just speculation on my part, but it could be that you are really ugly.  On the Lake Fork trip Glenn told me he set up the site so that it will reject the Avatars of ugly people.

Yea, the ugly filter was originally made for Muddy_man but it actually imploded when Burly joined.  We ended up liking him so Glenn never fixed it.
