I CAN DRIVE A STICK NOW!!!

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you all know that I can drive a stickshift now (which means I can drive my new car by myself)! It's so exciting to drive, especially now that I know how. Anyway, thanks for all the tips you gave me, they were a big help. And it only took me four days to learn! :)

Thanks again.  ;)

Congrats, thats a great feat for anyone, now that you have learned to drive a stick you won't like to drive an automatic for atleast a year/

Congrats....guess I was lucky....I learned how to drive a stick shift at 12 yrs old.  Dad told me to get in and promptly showed me how to back a boat trailer in ;D  He was a commercial catfisherman ( still is at 73).  I had lots of fun in that little Datsun pickup ;)

My dad taught me how to drive some 35 years ago in a 1971 Ford Pinto with a stick.  Driving an automatic is so boring, I missed my stick as soon as I sold it and still do.  There's nothing like being involved with driving a vehicle beyond just steering, braking and accelerating.

That's excellent.

It's not just a personal accomplishment, you are now better prepared for life in general.  I always teach any g/f I have how to drive a stick if they don't know how.  God forbid there is ever an emergency and a stick is the only car available.......Just good to know how, no matter what.  Good Job.

While we are on the topic.  SEATBELT!  Click it.

Keeps you in the seat to DRIVE OUT OF an accident. Can't drive a car from the passengers seat (unless you deliver mail or live in England :) )

Congrats. It took me a bit longer.  (like a few months ;D)

But like LBH said, click it.  I've had a few of my friends get hurt driving without a seatbelt.

My Dad and brother both have always told me that once I learned to drive a stick, I could drive any vehicle.  Meaning trucks, tanks, ATV's,Rv's etc....

Learning to dirve with a stick-shift is like learning to ride a bike.  Once you learn how, you never forget.
