I have seen videos of srt-4 killing all sorts of cars. They ranged from a stock mustang didn't say if it was v-6 or a v-8. I just a a vid of one killing a viper. It looked like the viper was taking it easy. I have also seen one keep up with a camaro with 600 "claimed" hp and beat it in the end. Then they let the camaro run a 150 shot of nos. The camaro beat it by like a car. But I cant figure this out. I have seen them agianst Porsches, evos, wrxs, supras, turboed acuras and get spanked. None of them cars have the 600 "claimed" hp as the camaro. So why did they kill it and the camaro just bearly won? But to make it better I have seen a 04+ mustang kill one. I mean almsot half the track. So go to you tube and search srt-4 and see what iam talking about. Come back and post what you think after seeing a few vids.

There are so many variables in street racing that you can't make comparisons.  And I don't think any SRT-4 would keep up with a 600whp car.  My friend's '71 Nova 400 sb +spray runs 6.40s in the 1/8 and its probably 560whp or so.

Another buddy could stomp almost anyone in his 350whp GTP--he left early everytime.  They kept chasing, so he kept leaving early.

SRT-4s can run well but they aren't in bolt-on LS1 or LT1 territory. And forget power-adder cars and H/C.

and let's not forget.....a saying I have applied to many things in life, including ski equipment, fishing gear,....

Early in life I set NHRA and IHRA records with a drag car. The difference in a street racer and a real racer are: syspension, gear & tire. Anyone can drop a high HP motor in any car. If it will not hookup it ain't going to ET. I firmly believe you can make a pissant pull a freight train with enough gear and tire.

SO Tipp HOWS THE FISHIN? ::)

Too many variables for sure.  This is posted under everything else muddy, so thats why its not about fishing probably.

HEY MATT  ISN"T THAT CAR THE SAME COLOR AS RUSS"S BOAT< LEFT OVER PAINT?

fishfordollars,

Back in the late 60's (right after the dinosaurs) there was a company named Yenko that would drop a 427 in anything with a bow tie emblem on it. I remember reading about a '68 Camaro they did. Coming off the line first gear was useless, second was a little better (apologize, don't remember the e.t.) and you could take off in third and turn a better e.t. than second :o. You're right about gears and tires ;)

Yea in NY we had a place out on Long Island called MOTION CHEVY, they

put out some incredible SS's and Vettes with those L88 427's and a lot\

of incedible 396's those Rat Engines ruled the streets!!!!!!!

Actually I think I remember some of their advertisments in Hot Rod or some mag. of that time. You didn't mind the gas at that time, when it was probably $.25 a gal....

Matt I will take you on only if you give half the track. Then I will wave at you flying by me. Muddy I havent been fishing for a few months. School is taking up a lot of my time. I really have lost a lot of intrest in fishing. I have over 1,000 pages of tool catalogs ranging from craftsman to snap-on. Like I told my mom tools are whats going to make me money not fishing gear. I think the real reason I lost all intrest of fishing is becasue I know have to drive 30 minnutes to a lake I have never been to. Were I only had to drive 10 minnutes to the lake I know before. So maybe this spring when I mave back home I will pick up fishing agian.
