An amazing day today, it is 60 degrees out and might hit the mid sixties, sunny, no wind. And it is January. Last week we had overnight lows below 0 and a few days it didn't even hit 20. When I left work at 9am I was thinking, ok, shower, hook up the boat, pack a lunch and go on the boat. O NO WAIT! There is still ice! Got my hopes up and forgot it was January. 50's until Saturday then cold next week and possibly a snow storm Monday. Got to love New England weather. Might have some open water by Saturday though, hopefully. Sorry for the rant, Cabin Fever is really starting to take its toll.

Right there with ya man. The worst part is right about the time the water start to open up it'll get cold again and refreeze.

I don't know man, by this weekend there should be open water, especially after all the rain that's expected.  Cheers to some 2008 New England bass

;D ;D ;D

Called in sick today because I wasn't feeling well. It was too darn nice to sit in the house. I just got back from the river. Got skunked. My whole body is sore and my nose is all stuffed up. My head just wasn't in it. Beautiful day though, If I wasn't sick I would have stayed all day.

We've had record high's the last three days, in the low to mid 60's, now the temps are falling like a rock. When I got up this morning at 3:00 the temperature was 57 now it's 40, and 30 MPH winds.................Is it spring yet????

Despite the warm weather, fog, and rain, all the good cold water lakes are still frozen and thick. No fishing any time soon. And snow Monday

Thats harsh man so Harsh, may your next PB break off at the boat, right back at you...

It has been weird and all the fog.. We have lost a lot of the Ice on all the local lakes. Wish it was here to stay, back to winter though it is looking.

This is about the time of year I try to remind myself that the 15lb 8oz MA state record largemouth came through a whole in the ice.  ::)

Of course I'd take a fish half that size on one of the 4 new combos I have that I won't be able to use for another 2 months staring me in the face.
