I couldn't get the site to come up but that is not as uncommon as some people may think. I have seen many four legged animals be born with more then 4  legs. ;)

6 legged deer is a mutation.  In nature, it would have been eatten a LONG time ago.  As the report said, it was already getting attacked by a pack of dogs.   Mutations like this happen in nature, but natural selection usually takes care of the problem.  If they "repaired" the deer and released it, the DNA that caused the extra legs would be passed down to other generations.  Better to keep it in captivity or put it to sleep.
