Does anyone besides me still buy CD's?

Featured Replies

The discussion came up recently that some members of our younger generation will never shop at a record/CD store.  I still buy about half of my music on CD's and download the other half (although slowly downloading more often).  I have noticed the music sections at Best Buy and other retailers have gotten smaller over the last couple of years.  I find it kind of sad that record stores will soon fall by the wayside.  How do you get your music?

I get all of my cd's from a store. If I still had an ipod, I would probably get most of my music from iTunes, but I use my phone as my music player.

I am not at liberty to discuss.....

Strictly from iTunes now

Mostly CDs I just like having something hard. (I'm not too big on computers.) The only reason I'd get an ipod is to plug it into my truck.

What's a CD?   Oh, you mean those round shiny things next to my cassettes, albums, and yes a few 8 tracks still hanging around.  I can still play the cassettes but the albums and 8 tracks are just decoration now.

Along with the CD's.  I download all my music from Napster.  Pay .99 each for both the good songs off a cd instead of paying 12.99 for 2 good one and 8 crappy ones.

All CD's

i buy most of my CD's (although a lot of my music is taken from my dad's CD collection" but i also rip a lot of CD's from friends.

i NEVER download music.

it would just drive me crazy to download a few songs from an artist. i feel incomplete if i have a few songs but dont have the whole album.

Most from iTunes.  Some CD's

I prefer Cd's if i can find the album I want easily. If not then I'll download it. I just find it easier to keep track of cd's then keeping my downloads managable.

Plus when I'm flipping through my cd cases i can look at cd's and have memories connected to each and ever one. I don't find the same connection with intangible downloads.

I was a DJ for a few years, and have thousands of cd's and also 4 or five cases of vinyl records and still play them all.
