Website help!

Featured Replies

I am starting a new website and I am a rookie.  Can someone recommend a good hosting service that is fairly cheap and has no long term commitment?  I prefer one that you have actually had experience with, not just one that you have heard of.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Please pm me or reply to my personal email at rjcorobert@yahoo.com.

www.ipowerweb.com  used it for 5 years as a webmaster and recommended it to lots of friends who have never had a problem.

What are you using it for?  I have had two websites, and used two different services:

1)  In high school, I had dreams of running a video editing company.  So I made my own website, intending to sell my videos and advertise services, but nothing ever happened with it.  Still, it was fun to learn some basic coding.  I have no idea who I used to host it, but there were plenty of cheap, committment free services out there.

2)  The next one was a website for a photography business I played with.  This website had to be good, as I actually needed money from the business, so I went with GoDaddy.  $100 bucks for 3 months, and they design and maintain the site.  Cheap enough for me, and it means I can stop worrying about the website and focus on business development.

Thanks for your responses.  I went with ipower and got the site up fairly easily.  Check it out at www.alabamafishingbuddy.com and see if you think my concept will work.  Keep in mind that I already own my own business so if this works cool and if not I'll live.  If I can get 1 client, I will have broken even.  If I can get a few I will have an excuse to fish.

Wow! That looks great. Sure don't look like a rookie made that to me. Great job!!!

I was going to recommend godaddy.  I have my site with them and have been very satisfied and the rates are fairly reasonable, IMHO, for what you get.  But, you have done very well.

Good luck!

Eddie
