The University of Richmond Spiders won their first ever National Championship in any sport this weekend with a 24-7 victory over Montana in the Division II National Championship game.

Living in Richmond and attending their football and basketball games is a pleasure.  You feel safe on campus and it is a fun time in the stands and bleachers.

Congrats to UR for their achievement.

And now UR and Virginia Tech have one thing in common:  One National Championship each.  UR in football and Tech in the shot put.  :)

That was a great game, Sam. I knew Richmond would dominate Montana if they didn't turn the ball over...just like JMU should have. It was clear that Montana didn't deserve to be there, they were totally outclassed. It is frustrating to see my team go 12-0 in FCS and then play terrible for one game and get knocked out of the playoffs only to have the team that beat us get demolished by a team we beat earlier in the year... :'(

I've never felt safe in Richmond.

Then you've never been on the UR campus. It is a very nice, probably because it costs a ton of money to go there so they don't want all the rich kids to get scared. VCU on the other hand... ::)

Burley,

The geographical difference between UR and VCU can be summed up best by the following:

Basketball Recruiting

UR allows their students to crash the Country Club of Virginia.

VCU has its own 7-11 so the team members can hold it up anytime they want.

See the difference???  ;D   ;D   ;D

Burley's not hanging around the Jackson Ward?
