Yep. Here we go again.

So my whirlwind tour of the internet and its broadband offerings has taken me on an amazing ride the last month.

From websites where you need a CC# to watch the "movies" ;), to awesome pirated video sites, and to the wonderful world of online gaming.

So I finally get a hard drive for my Xbox yesterday, waiting at my door. Sweet, finally download the map pack for CoD4. My girl is at the comp, surfing the pirated movie sites, and is pizzing and moaning that she could not find this one specific movie. So I sign up for Netflix, and get the movie instantly streaming on the computer. Wow, almost popped one over the technological marvel i had just discovered.

Furthermore, I figured out how to setup a proper home network between the PC and my Xbox. I can now view all videos, pictures, and music on my computer, ON MY TV. Can listen to my itunes library on the TV/headset, while playing online. Got a full on tent pitched at this point.

All this time, my girl is cheerfully watching her movie streaming on my sweet 15" computer monitor. Playing around on the Xbox, I discover the Netflix application. So I proceed to set it up, and stream the movie that she is watching, ON MY TV. I walk over, close her movie window, and open BR. I didnt say anything. Just looked at my "bullshi^ fishing chat junk". After a minute or two she gives me a none to sweet, W T F !!. I then push play on the xbox, it was pretty funny. At that point she might have joined me in my techie "arousal".

Pretty boring story probably, but for a backwards farm kid from Colorado who didnt get high speed until nearly '09, its like a whole new world, lol.

Logan, set up your network and you can listen to any of your comps music through your V1's.

You know that I dodged that bullet, had the "Still Fresh Seal" when I got to it ;) ;D

Haha wooooow. I feel like I'm watching Jerry Springer.

I play COD5 sometimes on friends account. He plays Halo 24/7 though.

... You sure contaminated that seal.  Good times bro.

Back on topic, I'm gonna go check out Circuit City's "Going out of Business" sale.  They said they had EVERYTHING marked down so hopefully i'll be able to find COD4 or COD5.  Can't wait!!!

It really is crazy how integrated everything is now.

How is the video quality of the movies you stream from NetFlix on your computer/xbox? I had heard that they were going to downgrade the quality so it would download faster.

Branuss, don't get your hopes up. If your Circuit City sale was anything like the one where I live, there isn't anything good. They have a sign that says "10-30% off everything in the store." Yeah, well when I was there I ONLY saw 10% off signs. I could have bought COD:WAW for $54 instead of $60.... >:( I hope your sale is better, though.

Yeah they are having a great liquidation sale with items supposedly marked 30% off, only problem I have with that is that the %30 off comes after a %40 mark up.  Probably another reason they are bankrupt.

My TV is pretty small at 27" and the quality is good enough for me.  Its at least as good as satellite TV.  This is just streaming them. It takes about 30 seconds for netflix to "acquire" your internets speed and "optimize" the performance, and there has never been more than 20 seconds for the movie to buffer. Then it goes, no problems.

I mean, for $8 a month, unlimited streaming vids and I think 3 DVD's, it seems pretty cool to me. They have a free trial to, so you could check it out with nothing to lose.

But yeah, pretty sweet to have everything all integrated and working together.

Branuss,

If you are looking for COD4 on 360, I have a copy I will send you if you will just cover the cost of shipping ( which ever shipper you prefer). I don't play it much anymore and someone should get some use out of it.

Cool, I'll check out that free trial. I don't have my own 360, I usually just play on my roommate's console. I'll see if he'll sign up and check it out.
