Around here I use a blue damsil fly during the early summer. It's great topwater action. Others to use are;

Streamers

Muddler

Poppers

Deer hair mice and frogs

Terestrials (ants, beatles, ect)

Crayfish

Weighted wooly bugger

Clouser

I alway have both floating and sinking line with me.

Recently I have been catching a ton (some 3 -5 pounders) on creepers and minnows also. A creeper kinda looks like a minnow with a long fur trailer.

Foam frogs look like a lot of fun also. But I havent tossed one of those yet.

Here link to good selection of bass flies and you can see what they look like. Bassflies have some funny names!

Also remember to match your lure to the right line size.  Some are pretty heavy and would cast easier on  an 8-9 wt rod/line  can be done with lighter tackle but harder to control.
