He already has one ring.

He's a fighter, that is certain.

First off, look at all the great SEC QB's over the years.

Think about Spurriers days at Florida and all the numbers they put up.

Last time I checked, Eli was ranked 6th all time in the SEC, his brother Peyton, was ahead of him.

He's got pedigree for sure.       Eli won 10 straight road games that year and the Super Bowl on neutral field.

Something about ending the NE winning streak as well to earn that ring.

He earned it, and I'm certainly not a Giants fan.

what a difference a couple of years makes. A couple of years back there were more questions about him than answers,

is he ever going to get out of Payton's shadow?

does he look confortable in the pocket?

yada, yada,  yada.

Good for him, he got the monkey of his back with that SB ring.

i hate manning, not just eli but peyton with a passion. eli more, i dono why theres just something about him. up till he won the sb he was bad, and everyone kept saying he was good. but during the play offs that year he was great, hate to admit but he was. still hate him tho lol

Looking at the 'Guaranteed money' it's not that huge. 6 years with 33-35 million guaranteed is nice but Matt Stafford the rookie got more. The six-year contract reportedly contains $41.7 million in guaranteed money (the most guaranteed to any player in NFL history) and carries a total value of up to $78 million

First of all Eli didn't win the game for the giants. The new york defense, the running combo the giants had, and Asante Samuels of the Patriots won that game for Eli. Samuels dropped an interception I could have made in the last drive of the game. That was a sloppy drive by elijah, but even sloppier by the NE defense. This wasn't a contract, it was a "thanks for the ring" money in contract form. Now they have Trigger Happy off they can afford to poay eli.

And when has 35 million not been that much money?

Eli is not worth that. But I don't care for him either so woopy woo :P

Now Peyton Manning on the other hand did agree to restructure his contract with the Indianapolis Colts to save the team nearly $8 million in salary cap space.

Easy E deserves it.

He's started four years. Each year he's in the playoffs.

Got the ring, MVP, and the Pro Bowl pick.

All while being in the hot seat in the most unforgiving sports city in the world.

When the pressure is on, Eli steps up.

I am a Giants fan but at times I gotta wonder if the lights are on but nobody's home with him....I think it's the relaxed demeanor that throws me...he really is almost numb to pressure situations. They are smart to get him long term because he isn't peaking yet IMHO and they've got some serious young talent on both sides of the ball and QB stability they haven't had since Phil Simms.

Worth it? I'm not sure. Are any of them really worth the dough they get paid? It's so unfathomable to me that kind of money. I mean aside from buying gloomis  and shimano what the hell would I do? ;D ;D ;D

I just want to see the defense pound people mercilessly and Jacobs beat opposing defenses in the same manner. That's Giants football. Throw when all else fails. :D

GO GIANTS!
