Can't see images or Avatars anymore

As of the past week I can no longer see anyone's avatar or pictures uploaded - might anyone know why?  It's not my browser as I've

- cleared cache

- tried i on both IE and Firefox

I've checked the control panel and didn't see a setting to turn on/off images so I'm at a loss.

    i have the same issue when my computer runs out of virtual memory (which is practically all the time  >:()

    At work.  I still get all of the banners and other graphics, and with other message boards I can see their avatars and pics just fine, so I doubt it's being blocked by the firewall group.
