Storm Chasers

Featured Replies

On my way back home Discovery Channels "SRV Dominator" vehicle was fueling up behind me at a gas station in Virginia.  It's a 2007 Tahoo with an external roll cage that is plated with steel and all kinds of equipment.  The external steel is on a hydraulic system that lowers it to the ground so that it doesn't allow air to get beneath the veh when the tornado is approaching.  Very cool to see and driven by 2 pretty cool.... and crazy.... guys.  They said the new season starts Sunday and they actually have had this vehicle in 4 tornados!

yeah, I have seen these guys on TV. You would have to be insane to do what they do. However, I am glad there are folks who are. They have gotten some good science off them and any more info we can get to predict these storms and give folks time to get out of the way it good.

One of my favorite series. Of course when you live in an area with the chance of twisters each time a storm pops up you need to be up on all the info.

I've been lucky(?) enough to see a few up close in my lifetime and it is nothing like you see on TV. The noise and the wind pressure is something you just cannot duplicate.

Its a great show.I'm always on the Discovery channel.I'm ready for the new season to start.I really like that Tahoe.Last year they had one called a TIV.
