Surprisingly good experience

Featured Replies

You know how everyone dreads going to the state motor vehicle office to renew a driver's license. I am no different and was really not looking forward to it since I had to take a vision test and get a new picture taken. I had also received a notice telling me that I would have to bring a birth certificate and proof of my Social Security number.

I walked in the door and was immediately called over to an open window. The lady was gracious, helpful and efficient. I was in and out of there in no time. She never asked for all that documentation.

What a nice surprise!

Try walking into a DMV in Palm Beach, Broward or Dade County. Thats straight scary.

NOVA DMV are horrible. I have to travel to Spotsylvania to get anything handeld in an hour or less.

NOVA DMV are horrible.

Roanoke is no different. The place has about 15 windows available but only 4 windows open.  :-?

I've never had a problem at the NC or VA DMVs, unless I didn't have my mess together.  In Eastern NC, we wait longer for a double cheesburger and an order of fries from McDonald's than we do with a DMV transaction. :)

I waited 3 hours to take my driver's license exam at the DMV in Tyson's Corner.

I can do it online most of the time, but the picture on my license was almost 20 years old so they made me come in and get a new one.

You guys want a screwed up DMV try CA.  Those are terrible.  Out here in OK we don't have a centralized DMV, we have to go to these shady tag agencies.  I don't know which is worse.

the DMVs in miami are terrible.

i went to the one in clayton , nc shortly after 9am this morning... i was out with a state license by 9:45.

oh man , i felt like i was dreaming.

I never understood why DMV takes so long. It suppose be a simple process.

I live in town of less than 50,000 it still takes a little bit of time. Are you serious?  ::)
