Any chevy truck fans here?

Featured Replies

I just picked up a 1970 c10 for $750! It has no motor or trans but the body is in good shape. I plan on putting a 5.3/4l60e combo in it and doing a frame off resto on it. It will be a great project for me and my son. Im just not sure exactly what we are gonna do with it other than the motor and transmission. Anyone else done a project like this? Have any recomendations? How did yours turn out?

Shoulda bought a Ford....

;D

Now thats funny, I dont care who you are or what you drive.

well, though I'e never done a restore on one, I'll give you an answer other than the haters... I'd love to see a final build pic of it in some time, up on 12" re-arcs and 44" TSL's...but don't forget to change out the half ton axles for some 1 tons, and the gearing etc etc, its a never ending things really.

then again, that's what I would do if I had the resources/funding/Time what you do needs to represent you, what you want to show out of the project. Drop it to the ground, with big mag wheels, and a chopped top. as long as it looks good, runs strong, and you're proud of it, that's what counts ;)

Oh, and consider a bigger motor, try a 383 stroker maybe ;D ;D ;D

If it isnt a shortbed fleetside, turn it into one.

Dana 60's front and rear, 37X13.5X18 Swamper M16's

OR

bag it so it sits on the frame and put 22's on it.

Color is easy: Black.

I love those trucks, I would have to have the fleetside shortbed though.

funny how we look all look at it differently, better then 2/3rds the old hot rod Fords, well they're running Chevy mills. Go figure ;D

If it was a 4x4 it would definately be sitting on 1 ton running gear and some boggers! I will post a final pic some day in the distant future, may take a year or two. I want to make sure we get it right. Oh and yes it is a short bed fleetside. :)
