Montana lost yet again to a CAA football team in the FCS championship. I hate rooting for Villanova but I'm glad a CAA team won it, especially after Montana cheated my Dukes last year and even more especially after I made such strong predictions that a CAA team would win again this year.

davis, I can honestly say I was rooting for App State against Montana last week. I hate Montana.

Yup, I was rooting for App. St last week too.  My cousin goes there.

living in the heart of the deep south, i rarely get to see these games...generally, toward the end of the year right after army/navy.

that said, and having no allegiance to either side, i thought the montana/app. state and the montana/villanova games were two of the best football games have seen this year...(outside of the trojans getting beat...again...and again.)

in snow, in driving rain, even mud and blood...they left it all on the field.

good games, imo.

I too was rooting for Nova. Montana took out my team 51-0 in the second round.

I like the lower division football. We have some great games played and a few of the local teams always show well.

The Southland conference always fields some strong teams that are fun to watch.

McNeese State and Stephen F. Austin both made the playoffs this year. both are loaded again for next year. S.F.A. looses two off defense  and two off offense, and McNeese has most of their players coming back. It should be another fun year to watch.

pffft, Southland conference. All roads to the championship go through the CAA as of now. Five teams in the playoffs last year, 4 this year.

Did not deny that. Just stated that we have lots of good football games to watch.

FYI, Stephen F. Austin did take out the mighty Nova on their home field in a snowstorm a few years back on their way to the championship game against Georgia Southern. 21-20

They did; however, lose that championship game 37-34.

I'm just ribbin ya. You're right, there are some fantastic games at the FCS level. JMU beat Villanova last year in the regular season with a last second hail mary pass and also beat Richmond on a last second kickoff return for a touchdown. Veeeery exciting.

I know you are. I cannot wait for next year. Again, Nova and Montanna should be the class of the league. They should be ranked 1-2. I expect McNeese State out of Lake Charles, La. and Stephen F. Austin out of Nacogdoches, Tx. to open up in the top 10 for the start.

Most don't realize how competitive and fun they all are to watch.

AND WE CROWN A LEGIT CHAMPION WITH A REAL PLAYOFF!!!!!

Good luck next year.

William and Mary, Richmond, Villanova, Delaware, New Hampshire, and maybe JMU should all be good or better next year. App State has started to decline from the power they once were, and once Armanti Edwards is gone it's only going to get worse.

I didn't realize the CAA had some many teams in their league till a week or two ago when I saw Hofstra was shutting down their program.  16 teams is crazy for a football conference.

yeah, it is a lot. That's why it's split into two divisions, sort of like some of the big time conferences.

did hauck just sign with another school as head coach?

that hill behind the stadium must not have been as much fun as he thought.

oh wow, I hadn't heard that, but after you mentioned it I looked it up. Bobby Hauck (Montana's head coach) has signed as UNLV's head coach.

Any bad news for Montana is good news for me!
