Can Spro Frogs Legs be replaced or changed?

Featured Replies

I've got some Spro frogs with legs that I've trimmed but on one I trimmed them too short  :). Is there any way to replace them? I was thinking of pulling them out but wasn't sure if I'd be able to put new ones in. Is it possible? Any tips on putting them in? Thanks! While I'm at it, is there any way of making them take on less water?

The SPRO Bronzeye frog is very popular so I would suggest to maybe try something different.

For example instead of trying to find factory legs, maybe go with a feather. Feathers "breathe" in the water which is the same reason Rapala has feather dressed trebles on their x-raps. Or maybe you could rip some strands off of your tubes and glue them together with mend-it or something similar. It could pay off to give them something theyve never seen before on heavily fished waters.

Tight Lines

I saw an episode of Bass Pro's with Timmy Horton and he had removed the legs and inserted weights in the rear to lower the butt end in the water for more action(with no legs). It looks like he might of heated up the holes to seal it up but it was hard to see. I would try to use some 100% silicone andif you wanted legs try skirts off some old spinnerbaits or jigs

Thanks for the tips guys.

The feather idea is really fascinating me! My biggest concern is getting them into where the skirts used to be. It's a pretty tight fit.

Painter Dude, I saw that episode as well but really feeel like the legs would help entice a bass to bite. If I can't get legs back in I might just have to stick some weights in it and try that out though.

Any ideas of where I can find feathers and what type of silicone would be good to seal it up?

Thanks again guys,

Andrew

Jann's netcraft is a site dedicated to lure building..Im sure they have some feathers floating around there somewhere.
