I saw http://www.aolnews.com/philanthropy/nc/article/philanthropy-on-10-a-day/991224?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl1|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolnews.com%2Fphilanthropy%2Fnc%2Farticle%2Fphilanthropy-on-10-a-day%2F991224 this story on AOLs homepage. Normally driven off by front page stories, this one intrigued me. I refuse to watch the local news due to a violence and crime ridden hour of tv. Its depressing that the in order for a TV market to get rating is to show the murders, and the theivery and rapes, etc. etc. etc. I feel it should be an equally balanced between good and bad, or at least more good than there is now.

This is an article about a man who lost his job in December from a non-profit company. Probably wasn't making anything to begin with, and then went to nothing. He started a project to give $10 to a new person everyday for a year. Some of the stories are amazing, and it's great to hear its close to home. He knows that giving someone $10 isnt going to change the life of something, but in turn he is hoping that it will make others help people a little more, something we should all do a little bit more.  Great story. Here is the guys blog about his entire project. http://www.aolnews.com/philanthropy/nc/article/philanthropy-on-10-a-day/991224?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl1|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolnews.com%2Fphilanthropy%2Fnc%2Farticle%2Fphilanthropy-on-10-a-day%2F991224

Great Story! I love how there are still people like this in the world. I would follow his foot steps on the west coast if I could afford 300 dollars a month.

isnt that what taxes are?

lol. This was voluntary. Tax money might go to other people but if you have no choice of whether or not to pay them, there is no good will involved.

I wonder if he can get a write off? I mean would he have to go to each person and get a receipt of some sort like you get at Goodwill
