Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell and ConocoPhillips are forming a joint venture to create a rapid-response system to capture and contain oil spills in deep water.

I don't have a link yet, but it was flashing on my screen just few seconds ago. I got to go make an errand and when I get back a story will be published somewhere.

Who says oil company don't care?  ;D

I think Exxon needs to go clean up their old mess  ::)

That's good though! I hope they can get this contained soon before it completely wipes out the Gulf fishery.

Good for them.

In other countries this type of capacity is mandatory - just sayin

No, other western countries.  However, having read the article, the type of technology being discussed far surpasses the type or mandatory response capacity I was talking about.

This has me rolling on floor, however, I feel bad for BP's executives. lol.

Two things:

1) How was pension fund misled? BP told the government in plain English was their plan was, I highly doubt they made a public release saying otherwise.

2) If the pension fund wins the lawsuit, how will BP pay? Are they going have to liquidate more oil field and assets?

I love how the article says between 2005-2010 they lost $200 million. LOL. ;D They been losing money for 5 years and now they want sue them for misleading them on their safety procedures? ;D
