Anyone been to Punta Cana (D.R.)???

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever been to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic? I'm heading there next week for my honeymoon. Any must see/must do locations or activities? Any tips? Thanks guys.

Yes.

Not much to do, the beach is everything in Punta Cana.  You can walk for miles.

I did go fishing one morning and caught a 60lb Dorado.  It had the most reasonably priced fishing charters I've encountered in the Caribbean.

Oh and Congratulations!!

Thanks guys! Skunked what company did you use?

I can't remember the name of the company sorry.  I booked it through the resort's activity director.  I remember it was $80.00 US for 5 hours, which is why the missus said I'd be stupid not to rather than giving me the stink eye.

We picked up people from about 4-5 resorts (8 in total) along the strip before heading to the marina.

It was a very professional outfit with clean, modern boats and Shimano and Penn gear.

The only thing I wish I had known before hand was that they don't provide water.

I went when I was younger. Honestly... I was drunk 75% of the time. The beach was awesome, but I spent the majority of the time at the pool bar. Be careful where you tread (markets and local areas) the resorts are very safe.
