Had a blast on opening day, everyone hit the limit of Mourning dove, 15, and started shooting Eurasian Collared Doves an invasive species, as they flew in later to feed!!

Did dove season just open there? It opened in most of the country on September 1st. Anyway, looks like you had a good day of shooting.

Yeah, Florida is a bit different. I think all were resident birds, can't wait until the migratory birds fly in.

How many collared doves did you end up with?  When I went to Ft. Walton earlier this year that's all I saw.

Most were morning doves, but it could have easily gone towards the collared doves as the day progressed, we just stopped shooting. Total count was over 100 birds and about 25% were collared. I think as you get closer to urban areas the collared doves are more prevalent.
